Two Weeks before Your Trip
- Review booking confirmation details sent by the group booking coordinator for theatre visit requirements, regulations and payment information.
- Review your goals for your visit. Use the educator resource guide to help interest the students in the topic. Film guides are available once the group is booked for a film. Some films may not have guides available.
- Orient chaperones by sharing your field trip goals.
- Book your school group concession package.
- Ensure you have the required number of chaperones for your group size (1 chaperone per group of 15-29, 2 chaperones per group of 30-59 etc)
- Obtain check payable to the Royal BC Museum, 675 Belleville Street, Victoria BC V8W 9W2 or payment can be made on a Visa, MasterCard or American Express card. No other discounts or coupons, including the IMAX® Teacher Preview Pass, are accepted with a group reservation. Pre-purchased concession packages must be made payable to the National Geographic IMAX Theatre.
- All group sales are final and non-refundable.
One Week before Your Trip
- Contact group sales with a final count of the total number of students and adults you will have for the trip.
- Check on bus reservation and schedule to ensure you arrive 30 minutes prior to start of the film.
- Complete pre-visit classroom activities that integrate your curriculum with your field trip.
- Review schedule and plans for the trip with students
- If you have pre-purchased a concession package, call Laurelie Martinson at (250)480-4887 ext. 5 with the final count of how many concession packages you will need. Pre-arranged concession packages are non-refundable and are made payable to the National Geographic IMAX Theatre at the concession counter by check, Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
On Arrival
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled show time. If you are not seated immediately, please be patient, as there may be a previous show still running. Please call (250)356-8096 (box office supervisor) to report if you will be arriving late.
- The theatre is located in the Royal BC Museum on Victoria’s Inner Harbour at 675 Belleville Street.
- Upon arrival, the lead teacher should check in at the box office for payment and pick up the group’s tickets.
- If concessions have been pre-purchased an IMAX employee will help teachers or chaperones distribute the concession packages as students enter the auditorium. It will be the responsibility of the group leader to make sure that only those that have purchased concessions pick them up.
- Please note that all concession must be purchased prior to the scheduled show time. All films are required to start on time.
- Restrooms are located near the National Geographic Store to the right of the concession
